I had just about finished "fixing up" my studio space. Loving the challenge of putting "found" items with old favorites was just my style.....vintage, junk and "plain janes" together made for a creative and lively hideaway in my personal space.

But I needed a couch - somewhere I could just flop and be comfortable at the end of the day. I breathed a quiet prayer. "Please Lord, I would love to have a 1940's style chunky sofa that is a soft faded rose color."

I could picture it exactly!!

A few days later I noticed a recurring thought. "Go to Deja Vu Antique Mall and browse." The only glitch was that earlier I'd promised myself I would never again go back there. My problem was that I loved the store and every time I went I ended up buying something I definitely did not need!

But the thought persisted. Finally I decided to return.....I opened the front door and there it was: The Sofa!! Exactly what I'd prayed for.....1940's, chunky style, soft faded rose! The Lord IS interested in blessing His kids with even the small "unimportant" things in life.....!!

Fun Flowers

Easy, fast & fun! Make beautiful flowers to wear. You'll need some synthetic fabric scraps. Polyester or nylon work best. Try Goodwill (or 1/8 yard at the fabric store). You'll need a tea light, two small plastic clamps (dollar store), pinback & E6000 glue.

Cut 3 or 4 circles out of your fabric. The first one should be about 4" across. Cut the next one about 3.5" wide. The third circle should be about 3" in diameter, and the last one about 2.5" across. These sizes are very flexible - and forget about making perfect circles - just have fun!

Light the tea light. With both clamps, pick up the first circle and hold the edge just above the flame. Turn it slowly and you will notice that the edges are slightly curling and singeing. Repeat with each circle.

Now lay your circles in order, one on top of the other. Tack or glue all circle centers together. Choose a button, earring or a found adornment to embellish the center of your flower. Sew or glue it on.

Turn your flower over. Sew or glue the pin back to the back of the flower. As soon as it's dry it's ready to wear or give away....!

Ideas....use different fabrics or colors in the same flower. Keep your eye out for fun vintage earrings or other unique "centers". Make your flower circles any size you want! Experiment & create....

my dove, in the seclusion of the clefts in the solid rock, in the sheltered & secret place of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet & your face is lovely..Song of Solomon 2:14b
